Here I am, after an hour and a half hike across the city, in some gorgeous park way up in the air. It really is beautiful out here!!! We were planning on hitting the "hippy" part of town and I was gonna throw down the guitar case for some extra cash, but it turns out the the local police don't like music lol. That's okay, this view was worth all the walking.

Were now headed up the 101, and the view is stunning!!! I think god created some things with multiple purposes in mind. The ocean gives us so much, but when you take a step back and really soak it in, peace hits you like a ton of bricks. For some reason, getting outside the normal everyday surroundings of my life causes a unique "click" in my brain and all of a sudden, any creative block that may have been up, is now gone. Maybe its the new sights and sounds, maybe its the crappy diner food that makes you poop a lot. I dunno.... But it is refreshing to dig into those creative pockets again. The subject of my current work in progress is a young lady, nobody in particular, who is broken and run down. She is searching for answers all over the place and can't seem to find them, but she will : ). The song is sung from the standpoint of someone she knows who doesn't have the answers to everything, but does have THE answer and the only hope she'll ever need. It takes you from her most broken point, and documents her rise into peace and freedom. Ill post a sample as soon as I have one. Love you guys!!! See you when I get home from cali!!!!

Hey everybody!!! I pray that everyone is well!!! Just wanted to pop in and update yall on whats happenin!!!

I guess the first real big peace of news is that just a few weeks ago I was ordained as Pastor Zach Trandum :). I am SO excited to be where I am at and so blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing circle of leaders. God is DUMPING passion on Grace Church and we are seeing breakthrough, provision, and blessing every single week!!!

Secondly,
in just about 2 months, on a tv program called "Second Take", which can be viewed on the daystar channel, will air an episode featuring our very own Pastor Brett Ferrar!!! This is HUGELY exciting because his testimony is a powerful one and will be seen by over 2 billion families all over the world. The show broadcasts to over 200 countries!!!

That's the biggest news, at least right off the top of my head. You should all make a journey out to Marblemount on July 12th where Grace Band, Grace Church's worship team, will be doing an outdoor worship concert!!!! Well I love you guys!!!! Be blessed!!!!! And drop me a line sometime!!!!!!

In a nut shell, since I dont have a whole lot of time to write... If you would have asked me a year ago if I was thinking of becoming a Pastor, I may not have said yes. I've known for years that I am called to be a worship leader, but God laid it on my heart to pray about becoming a pastor. No sooner had I fasted and prayed over direction, did the very thing I was praying for happen. This past weekend, Zach Trandum was ordained as Pastor Zach T! I continue to be amazed at the amazingness that is my father in heaven. I have never been in such a place in my life where God is so vividly coloring everything around me. And let me tell you readers!!! Breakthrough and blessing comes from submission and obedience!!! Line yourself up with the word of God and watch everything inside and out of you drastically change!!!!

Haven't really blogged in a good while...

So here I am :).
Holy crud tons of stuff has happened over the past few months. I am seriously at a loss for words at all that God has shown me and given me!!! Breakthrough breakthrough breakthrough!!! And ya know what? Its all because of obedience!!! There were some things in my life that I wasn't relinquishing control of even though I knew I needed to. I was growing stale as a result of that, but the second I said "OK God, its all yours", breakthrough happened and provision/blessing began POURING out!!! So I challenge you,
if there are areas of your life that YOU KNOW are supposed to be let go of, DO IT!!! Have you really stopped to ask yourself why you are feeling stuck and stale? Well here's your sign!!!! Out of obedience comes freedom!!!

Break Free.

I was in worship yesterday, jammin to some Brooke Fraser, and I began to pray over the people of the local church. I feel that there are many who are clinging or being held back this season by things of the past or certain circumstances. I started seeing this image in my head of a man with his arms stretched upwards, pressing against two walls. Under his hands cracks started to form as he pressed against the wall. It was beginning to crumble. On his wrists were shackles but the chains had been snapped and the remnants of the bolt that once held him lay behind. There were cracks in a window high above him that formed the word "break" and the cracks in the wall to his left formed the word "free".

I really feel that God is breathing newness into his people this season. People are breaking free! YOU are breaking free of those things. Sometimes we forget to look down at our shackles because we have been chained for so long. But if we never look down, we'll never see that they are broken.

The story of Samson comes to my mind. Just as his amazing God given strength had been taken from him and restored again later, God is restoring, refilling and refreshing his people. When you press in to God, you press against your circumstances which stand up before you like a wall and they begin to crack and crumble. BREAK FREE!!!! BREAK FREE BREAK FREE!!! Can you hear it? The sound of breakthrough is getting louder!!!!!

Hannah's breakthrough.

Hannah is one of my favorite characters in the bible. Her faith was incredible and her heart was just as amazing!!! This was a woman who was unable to bare children and was taunted for that reason. But in spite of her hurt and heart break she stayed faithful to God and pressed in to Him. She fell at His feet, praying a prayer of amazing faith as she offered her future son into the service of God.

I want to pause for a second and point something out. I have been on the subject of breakthrough and worship for the past couple weeks and this recollection of Hannah's life is a prime example of breakthrough. When we press in to God breakthrough happens!!! When we enter in to his presence, breakthrough happens!!! Hannah went up to the temple and dropped to her knees in prayer offering her precious son (who she hadn't even had yet!! What faith!!!! Holy crud!!!!).

You see at the time that Hannah was at the temple praying, her family had traveled there to WORSHIP God and offer sacrifices. Her family had been there worshiping!!! And then entered in to prayer!!! And then her joy was restored, her faith encouraged, and eventually her breakthrough broke through!!! Worship is a VITAL part of our relationship with God! Worship not only shows our adoration and love for God, but paves the way for God to bring breakthrough!!! SOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!!!

The word breakthrough was a military movement or advance all the way through and beyond an enemy's front-line defense. The above picture perfectly illustrates breakthrough.
When we enter in to worship, its like firing a laser beam right through the enemies wall!!! Thus paving the way for God to completely shatter the box that we are in!!! I try to think of life this way...

We have no walls, because He has no walls.

Breakthrough

I continue you dig into Gods word regarding worship and what it truly means to be a worshiper. I spoke briefly a few weeks ago during the worship about worship being an act of humility and surrender to God. In fact the word worship means "to render to" God. Worship is also a show of adoration. Not a show like we all have seen where its all about the music and talent and not the one who provided us with those things. When we worship we are expressing our adoration to God, as well as our love.
I believe that there is a breakthrough anointing falling on the local church! When we worship, we enter into battle against the enemy. Our praises cause the Devil to be damaged!!! Check this out, the word "breakthrough" is "a military movement or advance all the way through and beyond an enemy's front-line defense." When we worship, the enemy cant stop us from damaging them!!! Thus comes the breakthrough!!! I want to encourage all of you as I have been encouraged by this. Spend some time alone with God just worshiping Him and speak against the enemy!!! Praise God in advance for His glory!!!

Below I have pasted Psalm 104. I found it extraordinarily refreshing.

Crackers are over rated!!!

Soda crackers.... Ritz...Even Cheese its.... What the heck!? They tell me that crackers will calm my stomach and keep me from hug'n the bowl, maybe make me feel better and stuff....Blah... Crackers are over rated lol. I've tried all three of those and not one has done its job. lol Naw, its all good, I'm just playin... I'm not really mad at the crackers, just at my stomach. Who pukes for 3 days?
Anywho, my point to this whole ventfest was to pray a prayer of health over you all. This is a season where people tend to get sick alot. So...

If you are already sick, i pray healing over you now in Jesus name!!! We command the sickness in your body to die in the name of Jesus!!! And to those of you who havent been sick, protection in Jesus name!!!

Being down and out for these past few days has given me time to process and think and watch way to much tv lol. The media doesnt have anything good to tell us about health and wellness. All we hear is whats bad for us and what beverages cause cancer (Ok maybe I over did it a little on that one but still). God has given us the authority to speak against sickness of all kinds in our lives!!! DO IT!!!!!!

God continues to amaze me. He is moving and His people can sense it!!!

Over the past week, God has been speaking to my heart. I was able to spend some time with one of my best friends, Todd, who played for me a prophetic song from the international house of prayer. There was a lot more to the song than what I'm about to share, but this statement hit me right in the chest. The song was being sung as if God were singing it to his kids and this is what I heard...

"Do you know the way you move me?"

There is a heart cry going up from so many of Gods kids. I'm speaking about the people who are broken and feel unworthy to be loved by Him, or even to unworthy to set foot in your home church. I really feel that God is speaking to your hearts now more than ever!!!

"Do you know the way you move me? Do you know how proud I am of you? Do you know how excited I am when you open your eyes for the first time every morning? I love you! I love you! I love YOU! You move my heart to dancing! You move my heart to shouting and singing! Do you know the way you move me?"

God is healing hearts and growing faith. He is not angry with you, God is in a good mood towards you!!! And he desires intimacy with you no matter what your circumstance is!!! Press in to your Father because he loves you and wants to be closer to you than ever before! Prepare yourself for life change!!! Prepare yourself for a release of passion!!! Prepare yourself for the hunger to hit you like a ton of bricks!!! You are going to hunger and thirst for God more than ever and he is going to pour into you!!!

What does it mean to worship? Is it simply the act of singing, sometimes really dorky songs? Or maybe its acting happy even when you feel like crud.

Did you know that the word "Worshiper", was used in biblical times to describe the person who would sweep the floors of the temple?
The word "Worship" means, homage, rendered to God...

I tell you what, worship is not something we do to "get". Worship of God is an act of humility, we lay down everything and thank Him for all of the above!!! It is an act of service which we do to show our adoration to God. He deserves all praise!!! No matter what your circumstances are, you are loved by an amazing God who wants intimacy with you. Entering in to worship of Him is intimacy with our God!!! Go and bask in His presence!!!
I like to do this thing called "soaking". Basically all I do is throw on some of my favorite worship music and sprawl out. There I pray and sing and simply "soak" in Gods presence as if he were a huge tub full of water. GET SATURATED!!!!!!

What a mash of emotion and clarity I have been experiencing. Life has never been so busy, but also never been so awesome!!!
Though life is amazing right now, I am also faced with the fact that I am human lol. Doing so much is awesome but also draining!!! Sometimes a breath of air is needed to continue doing what we do. Life can be amazing but also dangerously close to overload if we arent careful.
I guess I just wanna encourage those people in my sitch to take a breather every now and then. Rest, refresh!!!

Internal Burning...

What is this fire welling up inside me? Have you ever felt amazingly excited about something but had to keep that bottled up? Remember that feeling in the pit of your stomach? How it almost wants to burn its way out... Over the past few days, an unexplainable burning in my spirit has been ignited. I feel as though a rocket is about to be launched into space...

Recently, after much prayer, The Zach Trandum Music Project decided to shift direction and begin a worship project. Our desire is to see the lives of people changed. Our hearts yearn to see wholeness brought to Gods people!!!

Wow, as I am typing this, I can feel that fire in my gut building and stirring. I feel like I'm going to overflow!!!
God!!! What are your plans and your desires?!?! Where will you have us go!!!??? Who will you have us touch!!!??? Our passions, our gifts, our thoughts, and everything else is yours. Make our hearts yearn for you and love as you do. Make people our first priority and the music after that.

The reason I am sharing this with you all, is because we can not do this alone. We NEED the support of our brothers and sisters. So, even though this is Zach typing all of this...We, as a team, ask for your prayers and support. God has something huge happening right now. Can you feel it? Cuz its shaking the earth... He's shaking you...

So we have officially kicked off our trip to the oh 8 season of american idol. And this is what Zach looks like with an hour of sleep, hence the energy drink. What excitement lies ahead? I dunno... But after a 13 hour drive, i think just getting out of the car will be exciting enough.

One big long thought and prayer...

Sitting in my room the other night, the lights dimmed, my papers and various objects lying on the floor beside me, I began a prayer and worship time that i will never forget. With my fingers on the keys of my piano I started to play what ever I felt and sing what ever was on my heart. I asked God to simply let me know he was there in the room with me and the product of that prayer was an amazing outpouring of the holy spirit. Soon I began seeing faces before me and with each one came a burden for their lives or circumstance. Some of the faces I was seeing I had never seen before in my life!!! But I knew that I needed to pray!!! Let me tell you, God is AMAZING!!!!! Soon he began bringing some extremely familiar faces to my mind. These people are friends and family who are VERY close to my heart. One face in particular popped out and God asked me to call her on the phone. So I obeyed and dialed the number. As she spoke at the other end of the line, an enormous weight was set on my chest. I realized that this weight was exactly what my friend was experiencing, God was allowing me to experience the tension in her life so that I would recognize and respond to her need. I started the conversation off by asking her if she was doing OK and found out that she was in fact really battling. Next, God spoke to me again and revealed to me that she had a leg injury, I asked her about it and she said, "yes". As I continued to listen God spoke even more!!! It was revealed to me that the injury was on her right knee and also her lower back. At this point I was absolutely floored by the Holy Spirit!!! I began praying over her, simply speaking against the injuries and heaviness over her. I spoke breakthrough over her and released the spirit of healing...And then we entered in to a normal conversation.
The following day, I received a text message that would absolutely rock my world. The pain she had been experiencing had not returned since I prayed over her!!!! God is SO amazing!!! He healed her OVER THE PHONE!!!!!!! OVER THE PHONE!!!!! HOLY COW!!!!
So in a nut shell,
I wanted to share this to encourage any of my readers. I don't know how many of you there are, but you need to know that Gods presence is thick!!! So many people think that to find God you have to chase after him, and that is true, but you need to know that He is after you!!!! God wants you!!!! He loves you!!! And his love has the power to change the very DNA of our bodies!!!
In fact right now,
in Jesus name I speak against any physical deformity or mental disability. Weather you were born with it or had it happen later in life, we command healing in Jesus name!!! Thank you Jesus that the very DNA of their bodies are shifting and changing!!!! We declare healing in Jesus name!!!!
In closing,
Gods presence is like a thick smoke....Breathe Him in....

God is so amazing. His provision and blessings absolutely astound me!!! Years ago, like 1997 I lost contact with a mentor and friend who had HUGE impact on my life. He, from the very start, had inspired me and driven me on to do what I was passionate about. Him and I both shared a profound love for music, singing, and songwriting and it was he who first saw that in me and proceeded to fuel that fire.
Over these past 11 years (I think lol), there has not been a day that has gone by that I havent prayed over him and asked God to re-connect me with him. After a while I never actually thought I'd get the chance to see him and tell him exactly how big of an impact he has had on me. But just the other night, I ventured out to Bothell WA for another old friends show and who should I run into???

Jazz, Trees, and a Pot.

So last night proved to be a fantsticly refreshing one (is fantasticly a word? Well it is now..).
I ventured down to Wired and Unplugged along with some of my closest friends for some live jazz. When we arrived I was kinda shocked as the players asked me to stand in for the pianist and comp for the trio. Needless to say that made me really nervous cuz I've never comped with a jazz trio before, but thank you Jesus!!!! It actually turned out awesome!!! I even read through "God Bless The Child" and did pretty decent. I find that God is really pushing me out of my comfort zone in many aspects of life. Its those moments when we really experience the most growth. Sitting in our little box of comfort we become like a tree planted in a pot rather than the ground. The tree in the pot, though it may be exactly like the tree in the ground, will only be able to grow to a certain height because its roots cant expand into the earth. But the tree that's planted in the ground has unlimited space to expand its roots and it naturally grows tall and strong.
In all aspects of life we are like these trees. Staying planted in our comfy little pot, though it keeps us out of the rain and wind, will only allow us to grow so much, then we stop. But breaking out of our pot, though we will experience the wind and rain, causes us to grow tall and strong.
What areas could God be challenging you to grow in? Pray and ask him to reveal those areas to you.

Its now 8:00 am and I'm gearing up for yet another day of the usual. But to say it was going to be mundane would only be setting myself up for such a thing. I refuse to settle for that ;).
Anywho,
The band is working hard on the task at hand, which is preparing for June 12th at the Triple Door in Seattle. We are SO amped for the show its redonkulous!
I'm also gearing up for my final Jazz concert of the year via Bellevue Community College. We perform tomorrow night at 7:30pm, come and check it out!!! This is the last chance you'll have for the year!!!! And this years group has been the best yet!!! Come see us!!!
Well, I spose its about time I get my butt in gear and get to class. Gotta love uht!!!

Herbie Hancock was one of the most influential musicians of all time, in my opinion. Herbie really started building the foundations of jazz fusion. This album is a special one because you not only get to hear the amazingness of Herbie Hancock but also the tastays of some of today's most skilled artists, 3 of my favs being Jonny Lang, John Mayer, and Joss Stone, check them out too. You will like it I promise ;).
Anywho,
This project is a refreshing one to me because its offering some pretty great creativity, which I think is an aspect that the industry has been lacking for quite some time. So here we go, the answer to my prayers lol. A mix of some of today's greatest with one of histories greatest. Such a TASTAY album. Go grab uht!!!
